Doll outfit

As previously posted while we were in Indiana we visited Shiisa Quilts. Since it was close to Ellie's birthday I lent her pick out some fabric. She wanted a jumper for her doll, I used simplicity pattern 2296. I'm really glad I bought this pattern, I got it at Joanns during a $0.99 pattern sale, I've used it quite a few times. I don't usually follow the directions just use it to get the right size for a 18 inch doll.

The yellow pants are made from an old t-shirt, again I used the pattern to get the right size.

Car play mat

While we were in Indiana I visited a local quilt store, Shiisa Quilts and found this cute fabric. I've seen alot of handmade car mats but they always seem like alot of work, so this was perfect for me. I then found a girly play mat at a consignment store, I sewed the two together and added a basic binding.

Arf!

Last night's school musical was a big hit. The kids did great, although we couldn't really see Ellie most of the time. Here's a few pics..

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess (a day late)

Yesterday was Dr. Suess' birthday. School did decorations, reading time and a themed lunch. Ellie has to wear dress code but I whipped up a couple shirts for Michael and Braedon.
And I just realized that my other pictures are not on my memory card so I just have Michael's shirt. Tonight is the K,1,2 musical, hopefully I will have some good pictures to share tomorrow.

Pillow Pet Party

The pillow pet party has come and gone (and I've had a day to recover). We'll start with a repost of the invitation I made on Picnik
I used the collage feature, for the middle picture I used a random photo covered it with a white square sticker and added text. On the back was all the party information. Inspiration came from this post  on I Am Momma Hear Me Roar.

Here's the happy birthday girl!

All the pillow pets her friends brought!!!

We played two pillow pet themed games, pin the antenna on the lady bug pillow pet and musical pillow pets (musical chairs but with pillow pets instead).

Pillow Pet Ladybug cake, my first experience with fondant. It was pretty easy to make and work with and I think the cake turned out great.

Blowing out the candle!

And opening gobs of presents.
Everyone had a great time and it wasn't too crazy! She had two friends spend the night after the party. They enjoyed (even if they don't look like it) using their Book-it pizza certificates together.

Happy Birthday Ellie

Ellie turned 7 on Monday. We've already had two celebrations with a third coming up on Saturday. Here's the highlights so far. First we celebrated in Indiana...
Strawberry Shortcake I made for her

Her 7 year old outfit

Just blew out the candle (I totally blew it on the timing)

Presents and Michael being bossy :)
Then we did presents at home and went out to dinner on Monday

Presents at home

Going to bed in her new handmade jammies and looking tired after 4 days of celebrating
